On August 26, 2024, the rules for vehicle registration by foreigners changed.

If you are the owner of a vehicle that you have not yet registered on yourself or you plan to buy a vehicle in the near future, from August 26, 2024, you can register it at the Delegation of the Office of Administration and Civil Affairs in the district where you are registered.

At the Delegations you will complete matters related to the registration of the following vehicle categories:

• new ones purchased in Poland or abroad,
• used ones purchased in Poland or abroad,
• historic,
• "SAM",
• imported from abroad, which have previously been deregistered.

You are still obliged to submit, together with the application for vehicle registration, a document confirming your legal stay in Poland and registration in Warsaw.

If your vehicle is already registered in Warsaw and the authority issuing your vehicle's registration certificate is the President of the Capital City of Warsaw and you now have a need to:

• make an entry/deletion of the notations ‘HAK’, ‘L’, ‘GAZ’, ‘TAXI’ in the registration certificate,
• make an entry/deletion of the registration pledge,
• add a co-owner to the vehicle,
• have issued a duplicate of the registration certificate, registration plate or authentication marks,
• de-register a vehicle,
• declare a change of data in the registration certificate due to, for example, a change of registration address,
• notify of its sale or a change in its type,
