A project „Be safe on the Vistula” to increase safety of people resting on the river has been launched. Medical patrols will operate on the right bank between the bridges Poniatowski  and  Gdański , and  also on  the beaches Rusałka and Poniatówka.

The lifeguards from the PCK Warsaw Rescue group and the s12 Special Rescue unit will help the

active drowning  victimes, sunburnts, people with poor circulation as well as in case of injuries and fractures.

Two person lifequard teams are provided with rescue equipment, medical supplies and a quad.

Rescue patrols will operate on the right bank till September 23 at weekends:

- Fridays 18:00-22:00

- Saturdays 14:00-22.00

- Sundays 14:00-20:00

Additionally, the lifeguards will pass  to the sunbathers the basic safety rules  on the water, give advice on avoiding danger and using the floating equipment, inform on the emergency numbers and information signs as well as they will run the first aid classes.

The lifeguard station point  is  located in the Poniatówka beach infrastructure  operating within Dzielnica Wisła Summer Recreation zone.

The lifeguards are provided with the rescue equipment partially purchased by the City of Warsaw.
