null Explore Warsaw with the WarsawTour app
Traditional tourist guides are more and more often being replaced by mobile solutions. The WarsawTour app lets modern tourists easily locate the most attractive spots in the Polish capital city.
The WarsawTour is an official mobile guide developed by the Warsaw Tourist Office, aimed at Polish and foreign tourists. Operated both offline and online, the app lets users tailor their Warsaw tour to their interests by choosing one of 16 thematic walks. It is up to the app users to decide, for example, whether they want to fathom the impressive history of Warsaw by following in the footsteps of Warsaw Uprising participants, the Jews, or John Paul II. They can also pamper their senses with art-museum collections, experience sporting emotions, or simply hang out and taste the local cuisine. As the app enables the merging of two different routes into one, they can also combine business with pleasure, for instance by adding a blissful rest at the Vistula riverside to following the Frederic Chopin route.
Sites belonging to the chosen categories are marked on a map and in a drop-down list, forming the sightseeing tour. The use of GPS makes it easy to trace individual locations within the city space and to receive information on the attractive spots situated nearby. Descriptions of individual attractions, also containing practical information, such as opening hours, along with photos of selected spots, let mobile tourists fully explore the charm of the city. By connecting to the Internet, tourists can also design a route leading to selected attractions, find out about public transport, or visit the website of a desired facility.
The WarsawTour is currently available in the Polish and English versions (selected automatically, based on the device settings) for iOS and Android devices. The app can be bought in AppStore and Play stores, as well as via app.warsawtour.pl
