Extended opening hours at local government offices – PESEL number restriction
From 18 to 20 August 2026, local government offices in Warsaw will be open for longer. Residents wishing to block their PESEL number or unblock it will be able to do so until 6:00 pm. This is the city’s response to the high demand for PESEL number restrictions following the Ministry of Digital Affairs’ announcement regarding the cyberattack on MyDr company and the data breach.
PESEL numbers can be restricted at any branch of the Office of Administration and Civil Affairs in Warsaw, regardless of place of residence. This can also be done at government offices throughout the country. PESEL numbers can also be blocked online using the mObywatel app.
