Heated shelters during cold weather

Warsaw is preparing for days of intense cold weather. The State Fire Service has set up five heated tents where residents can warm up, drink hot tea or coffee. They were set up today at 3:00 p.m. and will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and from Monday until further notice, every day from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The tents are located in areas with the highest traffic:

  • Metro Centrum – the square in front of the station, known as Patelna.
  • Rondo Wiatraczna – between Grochowska and Al. Waszyngtona
  • Al. Solidarności/Targowa
  • Dworzec Południowy
  • Marymoncka/Żeromskiego – in the vicinity of the Słodowiec Metro station.

If necessary, there will be more locations.

Despite the availability of places in night shelters and warming centers, the city has prepared additional places for people experiencing homelessness. For their locations check here

In addition, the Mobile Counseling Point (bus), which has been running twice a day so far, will be reinforced with additional heating buses.
